Women’s Volleyball Tops Morrisville, Falls to Fredonia and Brockport

GENESEO, NY—Buffalo State (2-17/1-4) picked up is second win of the season, defeating Morrisville, but fell to Fredonia and Brockport, to wrap up the first round of SUNYAC Pool Play today at Geneseo.

Fredonia defeated Buffalo State in the opening match, 30-15, 30-26 and 30-17. Katelin Grew (Lackawanna/Mt. Mercy) led the Bengals attack with six kills and four aces, and Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) added 12 digs.

Buffalo State swept Morrisville in the second match, 30-21, 30-15 and 30-14. Tamika Neal (Fayetteville, NC/Hutch Tech) paced Buffalo State with 12 kills, nine digs and six aces, and Allison Suttell (Batavia/Batavia) had 28 assists.

In the final match of the day, Brockport defeated Buffalo State, 30-15, 30-21 and 30-15. Jessica Guadagno (N. Collins/N. Collins) had seven kills for the Bengals, and Grew had six.

Buffalo State will travel to St. John Fisher on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
