10 Years Running and Walking to a Successful Finish
A record turnout of more than 500 participants and over 100 volunteers braved the elements last Saturday to support the 10th Annual Bengal 5K Run & Fun Walk. What prompted this amazing show of Bengal spirit on a dreary day? The reasons are many: A legacy of ten years, this one in memory of Dr. Carmine A. Grande; incredible alumni support as demonstrated by class of '83 Mayor Brown firing the starting gun and Claudine Ewing, '92, emceeing the Post-Race Bengal Brunch; heart-warming support for a worthy cause, the Legacy Scholarship Fund; the emergence of the Queen City Triple Crown race series; to say nothing of prizes, t-shirts, camaraderie and exercise.
"Thanks goes out to all Buffalo State Alumni, faculty, staff, students, emeriti and friends for helping to make this year's event the best one yet," said race organizer, Jennifer Small, assistant director, Alumni Affairs Office. Highlights and photos from the Bengal 5K will soon be posted at www.buffalostatebengal5k.org. Overall, age group and special category race results are posted on the Score-This Web site at www.score-this.com, along with the current standings for the Queen City Triple Crown race series.
