Agnello Named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Buffalo State announced the hiring of West Seneca-native Andrea Agnello as an assistant women's basketball coach.
A former high school player at Buffalo's Mt. Mercy Academy, a knee injury as a freshman in college led her to accept a position as a student manager with the University at Buffalo's Division I team. Agnello made her way into the coaching ranks by helping to establish one of the first AAU programs in Buffalo, called the Buffalo Defenders. She went on to work with the varsity and junior varsity programs at the Immaculata Academy in Hamburg, before accepting a position as the head women's basketball coach at Hilbert College. Andrea's other basketball experience includes having worked as the Co-Director of Summer Youth Basketball in the Town of West Seneca for five years.
Agnello earned a bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo in psychology and has a master's degree in counseling and human services from Canisius.
