Aimee Fisher and Laurie Hutten
Softball players Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) and Laurie Hutten (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) were named Buffalo State Co-Athletes of the Week after leading the Bengals to an 8-2 start in Ft. Myers, Fla. last week.
Fisher, a sophomore biology major, went 6-0 on the mound, registering 46 strikeouts and just eight walks in 33 1/3 innings pitched. She limited the opposition to a .200 batting average and posted a 1.05 ERA. Fisher tossed her first shutout of the season in a 12-0 win over Western New England.
Hutten, a senior sociology major, hit .588 (20 of 34) as the team's leadoff hitter. The second baseman scored a team-high 12 runs, had five stolen bases, and recorded a .611 on-base percentage.
