Annual Spring Iron Pour to Benefit Haiti
Update posted April 12: News feature on WIVB.
All are invited to watch Buffalo State Fine Arts students and faculty members create unique sculptures from molten iron on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next to Lot T on Iroquois Dr.
Or, for $10 – 25, create your own iron tile to take home. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief efforts.
To make a tile, no experience is necessary. Sand blocks will be available for sketching a design or inscription. Students will assist with pouring liquid iron into the mold, which then sets for a few hours before it can be taken home.
For more information, email Elena Lourenco, assistant professor of Fine Arts, or call (716) 878-3208.
