The Art Education Department is hosting its first group faculty show this month. Fourteen faculty members will showcase their work in an exhibition held November 15–25 in Upton Hall's Czurles-Nelson Gallery. A reception with the artists will take place on Tuesday, November 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. outside the gallery. It is free and open to the public.
“After we opened up the idea, everyone was very interested in having their work presented in the show. All of our faculty agreed to contribute something,” said Michelle Bae, assistant professor of art education and the gallery representative for art education. “Retired faculty were also asked to participate.”
The exhibit includes paintings, installations, photography, and sculpture.
“Putting together such an exhibition lets people know that our educators are also making their own art work,” said Bae. “The art education faculty looks forward to engaging a broader community of artists at Buffalo State as we showcase our work and make it more visible.”
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact Kathy Shiroki, gallery coordinator, at (716) 878-3549.
