Art Sale to Benefit Victims of Japan Earthquake: May 6
Buffalo State continues its efforts to raise funds and awareness for those affected by Japan’s 8.9-magnitude earthquake. On Friday, May 6, a group of artists composed of Buffalo State students, faculty, and alumni will host “Bijutsu” an art sale to benefit the victims of this natural disaster.
The sale will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Upton Hall’s Czurles-Nelson Gallery.
The event’s organizers include Megan Cosgrove, ‘07; Sumiyo Roland, ‘10; Sunhwa Kim, assistant professor of design; and Robert Wood, chair and professor of design.
Works in mediums ranging from ceramics to photography will be featured at the sale, which also includes pieces created by members of the local arts community. All sale items were donated and 100 percent of the funds raised will benefit the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.
