Beiter, Ciolek Earn Academic Softball Honors
Buffalo State seniors Liz Beiter (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) and Tiffany Ciolek (Limestone/Salamanca) were each named to the 2004 Academic District I College Softball Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Beiter has maintained a 3.46 cumulative grade point average while majoring in childhood education and math. The team's 2004 Most Valuable Player, she appeared in 20 games as a pitcher, posting a 13-4 overall record and a 1.70 ERA. Betier finished her career second on the school's all-time list for wins, with 35.
Ciolek will graduate with a degree in public communication with a 3.69 grade point average. The team's starting second baseman, she had a .250 batting average this season with five doubles and 12 runs scored.
Student-athletes selected to the First Team advance to the National Academic All-America Ballot.
