The Buffalo State Alumni Association will host the 16th annual Bengal 5K Scholarship Run on Saturday, April 6, at 9:30 a.m.

The USA Track and Field certified course starts at the Buffalo State Sports Arena and takes participants through the heart of Buffalo’s Elmwood Village before returning to campus to cross the finish line.

Kevin O'Connell, '71, chief weather anchor at WGRZ-TV, will emcee the race.

Those wishing to participate are encouraged to register online in advance. Online registration closes on April 3 at 5:00 p.m. and reopens on the day of the race at 8:00 a.m.  Walkers are welcome.

The fee for individual participants is $22 before April 3 and $25 on the day of the race. Buffalo State students, alumni, faculty, and staff are eligible for a discounted rate of $20. Groups of five or more receive a rate of just $18 per person. A group registration form is available online.

A post-race party will feature exciting performances from student dance groups, refreshments from Flying Bison Brewing Company, free massages from the New York Institute of Massage, and music from Buffalo State’s own WBNY radio station. The race is also supported by Liberty Mutual Insurance, Buffalo Spree, West Herr, Tops, and RoadID.

Proceeds benefit the Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship and Military Service Scholarship funds. If you do not wish to run or walk in the race, you can donate directly to the scholarships.
