WOMEN'S HOCKEY (4-8-1, 2-3-1) Buffalo State Splits Pair With Neumann

Buffalo State hosted RIT on Thursday, and were defeated by the Tigers, 3-0. This weekend, Buffalo State hosted Neumann College in an ECAC hockey doubleheader, defeating the Knights on Saturday, 2-1, and losing on Sunday, 2-1.In the loss to RIT Mary Keddie (Willamsville/Bufalo Bisons) made 43 saves for the Bengals.

On Saturday, Buffalo State hosted the Neumann Knights. Buffalo State took the early lead off the stick of Tara Ostempowski (Lancaster/Buffalo Bisons) who beat the Neumann goaltender high on the stick side, after a nice pass from Carolyn Totaro (Rome/North Country CC). Neumann scored the only goal of the second period, and the game remained knotted at one until Kim Costanzo (Cheektowaga/Buffalo Bisons) netted the game winner with only 2:42 left in the third period. Totaro and Meri Mooers (Boxford, MA/Maine PVHC Bears) assisted on the game winner.

Sunday, Emma Wadsworth (Arlington, VA/Reston Raiders) netted her fourth goal of the season to put the Bengals in the lead. Neumann would score the next two goals, and go on to defeat the Bengals, 2-1. Buffalo State is now 4-8-1 overall, and 2-3-1 in ECAC West play.

Who's Next?

Buffalo State will travel to Lake Forest College this weekend for a pair of non-conference games, with start times of 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL (1-1, 0-0) Bengals Finish Third in Coles Classic

Buffalo State hosted the 19th annual Coles Classic this weekend at the Sports Arena. On Friday, the Bengals were defeated by Elmira, the eventual tournament champion, 80-75. Saturday Buffalo State defeated the Cazenovia Wildcats 80-63.

Friday night, junior guard Joshua Becker (Hamburg/Frontier) led the Bengals with 23 points, and six rebounds and four steals. Jeremy Konst (Willamsville/Willamsville East) added 18 points, five rebounds and six assists, and Justin Konst (Willamsville/Willamsville East) tallied 12 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Saturday, Becker led the way for the Bengals again, with 16 points, and nine boards. Justin Konst tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists while Perry Davis (Buffalo/Seneca) tallied 15 points and seven boards. Buffalo State is now 1-1 overall.

Buffalo State will travel to Oneonta on Friday, and New Paltz on Saturday, with start times of 8 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.

MEN'S HOCKEY (2-7-1, 1-3) Buffalo State Drops Two Road Games

Buffalo State played two non-conference road games this weekend in Manhattanville. Friday the Bengals were defeated 3-2, and on Saturday Buffalo State was defeated 4-2.

Friday night Joe Urbanik (Calumet City, IL/Waterloo) and Mark Infantino (Buffalo/St. Catherines) scored for the Bengals in the.

On Sunday, the Bengals were again defeated as Manhattanville went three for three on the power play. Dave Caderette (Boyne City, MI/Toledo Jr. Storm) and Rocky Reeves (Anchorage, AK/Ventura Mariners) each had one goal for the Bengals in the 4-2 loss. Buffalo State is 2-7-1 overall, and 1-3 in SUNYAC play.

Who's Next?

Buffalo State will be home on December 3rd to face SUNYAC foe Fredonia at the Ice Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.

SWIMMING & DIVING - Team Travels to the North Country Invitational

Saturday, Buffalo State traveled to the North Country Invitational, hosted by Potsdam. The women's team finished 4th of 6 with 226 points, while the men finished 3rd of 6 with 290 points.

Freshman Sarah Krawczyk (Cheektowaga/W. Seneca East) highlighted the women's capturing first place in the three-meter event with a score of 209.15. On the men's side, diver Michael Klein (Hamburg/Hamburg) finished in first place for the one-meter event, with a score of 214.50, and also the three-meter event, scoring 221.60. Senior Matt Helming (Amherst/Sweet Home) placed first in the 100-yard free with a time of 58.90.

Buffalo State will travel to the Grove City Invitational on Friday December, 6th and Saturday December 7th.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (1-1, 0-0) Buffalo State Places Second in Betty Abgott Invitational

Buffalo State hosted the 14th annual Betty Abgott Invitational this past weekend at the Sports Arena. On Saturday, the Bengals defeated lake Erie College, 62-32. On Sunday, the Bengals were defeated in the championship by Rutgers-Camden, 65-44.

Saturday night, Dionne Turnage (Buffalo/Traditional) tallied 17 points, and 10 rebounds to lead the Bengals. Abby Kochan (Newport/West Canada) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

Sunday, Monique Hanks (Liverpool/Liverpool) led the Bengals offense with 12 points and six rebounds in the loss. The Bengals are 1-1 overall, and have yet to play a SUNYAC game.

Buffalo State will travel to St. John Fisher on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
