Engagement, excellence, and social responsibility. Buffalo State students, employees, and alumni are well known for their commitment to these principles and for volunteering their time and talents to improve the community.
That spirit will be on full display at the college’s annual Bengals Dare to Care Day on Saturday, September 17. Service projects will be completed across the city from 9:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with lunch immediately following at the Sports Arena.
The event is coordinated by the college’s Volunteer and Service-Learning Center and sponsored by M&T Bank and Geico.
More than 30 projects have been identified in collaboration with local organizations and include sorting donations at a downtown homeless shelter, painting a mural in the Broadway Market District, and assisting in community gardens in the Fruit Belt.

Volunteer sign-up has been very strong to date—all available site coordinator positions have already been filled—but there is still time to register online and lend a hand as a volunteer.
Volunteers will be assigned to a project site on the morning of the event and transportation and a commemorative Bengals Dare to Care Day t-shirt will be provided. Check-in starts at the Sports Arena at 9:15 a.m. and buses will depart campus at 9:45 a.m.
