Bengals Swim Past Penn State Behrend
Buffalo State swept visiting Penn State Behrend tonight in a dual swimming and diving meet at Kissinger Pool. The men claimed a 101-87 victory, and the women prevailed 103-60.
Kevin Buisman (Penfield/Penfield) and Rich Gaczewski (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) each won a pair of individual events on the men's side. Buisman touched first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.86) and the 500-yard free (5:25.66). Gaczewski won the 1,000-yard free (11:12.14) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.83).
On the women's side, Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) swept the diving events, scoring 243.95 on the three-meter board, and 235.00 on the one-meter. Mindy Wood (Middlesex/Marcus Whitman) was also a double-winner, capturing the 200-yard butterfly (2:46.55) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:30.71).
Both teams improved to 1-2 on the season. The women's team will host William Smith in a dual meet tomorrow at 1 p.m.
