Bengals Win Big at NCAA Indoor Track Championships

Sasha Henry became the second ever female Buffalo State athlete to claim a national championship, while Jazmin Dunham raced to All-America honors this weekend at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship in Naperville, Illinois.

Henry (pictured) captured the title in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.60 seconds. Dunham bettered her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 8.65 seconds and placing third.

Four student-athletes in all represented Buffalo State at the national championships held March 8–9 on the campus of North Central College: Dunham, Henry, and men's track and field runners Cory Cox and Bumkoth Jiak.

Cox captured placed eighth in the long jump competition with a top leap of 7.02 meters, while Jiak placed tenth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.27.

Buffalo State will open its outdoor track and field season at the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 23.
