Bethel Edges Women, 2-1

Buffalo State dropped to a 2-13-1 record overall after dropping a non-conference game to Bethel College tonight.

The Royals took a 1-0 lead into the second period after Anne Gilbertson tipped in a shot that beat Bengal goaltender Crissy Michalek (West Seneca/Buffalo Saints) with one second showing on the game clock. After a scoreless second frame the Bengals tied it up when freshman forward Jamie Overbeck (Tonawanda/Buffalo Bisons) poked home a rebound to tie the game at 1-1. The Royals scored the game-winner on a fluke goal that bounced off a player and found the back of the net. Michalek made 38 saves in between the pipes for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for a 4:00 pm rematch against Bethel.
