How does $45,300 sound to you?

That’s how much Buffalo State students made on a (hypothetical) million-dollar investment, placing them seventh among the 18 colleges taking part in the Adirondack Cup, a competition through which “college and graduate students from participating universities throughout New York and New England can create their own hypothetical small-cap portfolio for six months,” according to the Adirondack Funds.

The Buffalo State team was led by Jason Cleaver, ’14, an economics major with a concentration in finance. It was the first time Buffalo State  participated in the competition.

“We’re very proud of our students,” said Ted Byrley, associate professor and chair of economics and finance, “but we’re not surprised. Jason and his teammates were committed to winning. We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate.”
