Boyes Honored for Service to Western New York College Football
Buffalo State Director of Athletics and former Head Football Coach Jerry Boyes received the Western New York College Football Meritorious Service Award yesterday at the third annual WNY College Football Kickoff Luncheon presented by the National Football Foundation.
Boyes was honored for his 15 seasons of service as the Bengals' head football coach from 1986 to 2000. During that span, Buffalo State posted a record of 89-62. Over Boyes' final 10 seasons at the helm, his team went 78-28 and made 10-consecutive postseason appearances, including seven trips to the NCAA playoffs and three ECAC Bowl Championships. Boyes was recognized as the CNN Division III Coach of the Year in 1995.
