Brockport Defeats Men’s Basketball
BUFFALO, NY—Brandon Williams (Rochester/ Edison) had 18 points, 15 rebounds and five steals as visiting Brockport (13-6/9-1) downed Buffalo State (5-11/3-7), 72-62, in a SUNYAC game this afternoon at the Sports Arena.
Sherod Harris (Rochester/ Gates-Chili) scored 14 points for Brockport, and Cantrell Parrish (Buffalo/ Grover Cleveland) added 10.
James Tyndal (Bronx/ Msgr. Scanlon) led the Bengals with a career-high 21 points. Jamar Gray (Rochester/ Bishop Kearney) added 12.
Brockport led 30-29 after a sloppy first half that saw the teams combine for 26 turnovers and 20 fouls. Brockport pulled away early in the second half and led by as many as 13, but the Bengals rallied and cut the deficit to just three at 59-56 with 3:11 remaining. Brockport knocked down 11 free throws in the final two minutes, however, to stay out in front. Buffalo State committed 33 turnovers in the game, compared to 22 by the Golden Eagles.
Buffalo State will travel to Fredonia next Saturday at 8 p.m.
