Fab Freshman…
Women’s lacrosse player Karen Shaddock has played just nine games for the black and orange, but she’s already making her mark in the record books. The freshman helped the Bengals to a pair of conference wins and pushed the team’s winning streak to a school-record eight games. She had three goals and four assists in a 15-14 win over Brockport and then set a school record for points and assists in a game with 10 helpers in a 21-7 win over Potsdam. The Corning, N.Y.-native also holds the school records for points in a season with 61 on 23 goals and 38 assists.

Seventh Inning Heroics…
After its doubleheader at Oneonta was postponed, the women’s softball team traveled to New Paltz and split with the host Hawks on a pair of seventh inning heroics, dropping the first game, 6-5, but winning the late game, 8-7. Buffalo State took a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning in the opener, but the Bengals were once again plagued by fielding woes, committing two errors and New Paltz belted three hits including a two-out walk-off double that plated the winning run. In the nightcap, Buffalo State capitalized on a three-hit final inning and drove in the final run on a sacrifice fly. The Bengals are 10-6 overall and 4-2 in SUNYAC play.
