Twenty years from now, how will recent Supreme Court rulings be affecting America?
Political Science faculty Anthony Neal, associate professor, and Peter Yacobucci, assistant professor, are raising that question as Buffalo State celebrates Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, September 17.
Neal and Yacobucci are presenting “The Cost of Freedom: Absolute Freedoms and Their Impact on America’s Future,” on Tuesday, September 18, at 12:15 p.m. in Upton Hall 230.
Yacobucci, whose expertise includes the U.S. Supreme Court, will begin with a short discussion about how recent Supreme Court decisions have altered the landscape of political speech and gun rights. Neal, also an expert on American government, will discuss the implications of those decisions.
Members of the Student Political Society will then discuss what this means for America’s future—their own future.
“We hope to close with a robust audience discussion about whether these rulings promote the vitality of the United States,” said Yacobucci.
