Buffalo State will celebrate the opening of the newly renovated Caudell Hall—a $27.6 million project—with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Thursday, February 9, in the Argo Tea area of E. H. Butler Library. An open house and tours of Caudell Hall will follow.
The significantly updated building houses three departments within the School of the Professions: Hospitality and Tourism, Social Work, and Speech-Language Pathology, along with the Health, Nutrition and Dietetics Department, which is within the School of Natural and Social Sciences. Students returned to Caudell with the beginning of the spring semester.
The entire three-story interior of the 21,000-square-foot building has been gutted and renovated. The first floor now boasts an expanded lobby and houses classrooms, a conference room, and state-of-the-art food laboratories for the Hospitality and Tourism Department, including one with a demonstration area opening into the main lobby.
Since 2011, New York State has invested more than $325 million in new capital projects and renovations at Buffalo State.
