Got code? Student teams are invited to participate in Synacor’s first hackathon contest, Saturday, January 14, from 9:00 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, January 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Buffalo State’s Science and Mathematics Complex.
Hackathons allow computer programmers and software designers, ranging from beginners to professionals, to collaborate on a single project over a short period of time. New programmers can earn valuable field experience, while professionals can be inspired by fresh ideas and perspectives.
Teams may include one to four people and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Submissions will be judged by fellow participants in the categories of “awesomeness, utility, completeness, difficulty, and innovation,” and will be eligible for some tech-savory prizes including MacBook Pros, game consoles, and more.
Participation is Synacor’s hackathon is free and participants will retain ownership of their work.
