Buffalo State Literacy Center Accepting Applications
Buffalo State Colleges Literacy Center is accepting applications for children in grades K-12 who need help with literacy skills.
Two programs, both of which begin in mid-October, are offered.
A Classroom Teacher Diagnosis and Tutoring program will meet Tuesdays, from 4:45 p.m.-7 p.m., also at a cost of $75. A Literacy Specialist Clinic program, the more intensive of the two programs, will meet Thursdays, from 4:45 p.m.- 7 p.m., at a cost of $75 per student.
Each offers diagnosis of reading and writing skills, as well as beginning tutoring sessions that address students strengths and weaknesses in literacy. Tutors are graduate students completing their Literacy Specialist certification or masters degree and education, and work under the guidance of reading experts. Parents will receive diagnostic reports at the conclusion of the semester.
