Buffalo State Loses to Plattsburgh, 7-2
The Buffalo State mens hockey team opened their conference schedule on the road today with a 7-2 loss to Plattsburgh.
The Bengals opened up the scoring with goals from sophomore Matt Davis (Candia, NH/St. Thomas More) and senior captain Mark Yoder (Ft. Wayne, IN/Grand Rapids) to put the Bengals up 2-0 with just over 14 minutes to play in the first period. Davis goal was assisted by Brian Janke (Anchorage, AK) just over a minute into the first period. Yoder scored on a penalty shot that was awarded with 12:35 to play in the first. The Cardinals would score seven unanswered, including two in the first, two in the second, and a three goals final stanza to finish the scoring at 7-2. Goaltender Adam Horvath (Coplay, PA/Pelham) made 41 saves in the game.
Buffalo State now stands at 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Bengals travel to Potsdam tomorrow night to face the Bears at 7:00 pm.
