Buffalo State announced the appointment of Adrienne Turley as the school’s ninth head volleyball coach.

Turley inherits a program that has qualified for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs in each of the past two seasons and has posted a record of 50-25 during that span.

A native of Buffalo, Turley was a standout player at City Honors before accepting a scholarship to play Division I volleyball at the Chicago State University. Also a member of the school’s track and field program, her career was cut short by a knee injury. Turley also served as a member of the school’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and earned the Student Activities Leadership Award in her final season.

Since wrapping up her playing career, she has spent three seasons as a coach with the WNY Storm Volleyball organization and worked as an assistant coach at her alma mater City Honors.

“We are excited to welcome Adrienne to Buffalo State,” said Athletics Director Jerry Boyes. “We are confident that her playing and coaching background make her an ideal candidate to continue to build on the recent success of our volleyball program.”
