Buffalo State Recognizes 73 Student-Athletes for Academic Excellence

Buffalo State honored 73 student-athletes that have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for at least three semesters at the college at its annual Scholar Athlete Luncheon today in the Hall of Fame Lobby in the Sports Arena.

Following opening remarks by Athletics Director Jerry Boyes and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Dennis K. Ponton, the 73 student-athletes were honored, including 26 that earned high honors, having maintained a 3.50 GPA or higher. Men's hockey player Brian Janke was honored as the top-scholar athlete. The senior has maintained a GPA of 3.97 while majoring in physics and electrical engineering.
