Buffalo State women's hockey goaltender Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) was named the US College Hockey Online Division III Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bengals pick up two important victories in conference play this past weekend.

The junior earth sciences major stopped 28 of the 29 shots she faced in Friday’s 5-1 win over conference rival Cortland. It was more of the same on Saturday as well, as Anesetti turned aside 24 of 25 shots to hold on to a 2-1 win over the Red Dragons. Anesetti is 2-4-1 on the season with a 2.44 goal against average.

The Bengals will travel east this weekend as they will take on Castelton State.
