Buffalo State's Becker Named SUNYAC Basketball Player of the Week

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Josh Becker (Hamburg/Frontier) its men's basketball Player of the Week.

Becker averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and six steals on his way to earning MVP honors at the Buffalo State Holiday Inn Invitational this past weekend. The host Bengals won the championship with wins over Hilbert (79-61) and D'Youville (84-66). Becker shot 63.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range. The 6'3" junior forward ranks second in the conference in scoring (18.2, sixth in rebounding (7.4), ninth in field goal percentage (.539), and third in steals (2.2). He is also listed in the top-ten in asssits with 2.8-per-game.

Buffalo State is 7-3 overall and 2-0 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will host conference foes Potsdam and Plattsburgh this Friday and Saturday.
