Buffalo State’s Edwards Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
Buffalo State sophomore sprinter Latoya D. Edwards (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) added another honor to her lengthy resume, being named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
Edwards was a three-time All-American in 2008. After placing third in the 55-meter dash at the indoor championships, the sprinter was fourth in the outdoor meet in the 200-meter dash, and was fifth running a leg of the 4x100-meter relay. In addition to excelling on the track, the health and wellness major has also achieved in the classroom, maintaining a 3.39 cumulative grade point average.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
