Buffalo State's Forster to be Honored as Football Scholar Athlete

Three local college football players, including Buffalo State’s Scott Forster (E. Otto/ Cattaraugus-Little Valley), have been named as the 2007 WNY College Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Western New York Amateur Football Alliance. They will be honored at the organization’s annual season-ending awards banquet on Monday, December 10 at Ilio DiPaolo’s Restaurant in Blasdell, along with three HS football scholar-athletes from the area.

Forster, a senior criminal justice major, has maintained a 3.61 grade point average since transferring from Alfred State in 2005. The safety finished second on Bengals with 78 tackles, including 42 solo stops. He also had two interceptions and team-best 12 pass breakups. An Honorable Mention All-NJAC selection, he is also a member of the conference’s All-Academic Team.

The other two recipients are University at Buffalo senior Jamey Richard and sophomore John Rachuna of Erie Community College.
