Buffalo State junior Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls/ Niagara Falls) was named the ECAC West Women's Hockey Player of the Week after leading the Bengals' season-opening victory.

The junior mathematics major netted her first career hat trick in the 3-1 victory over Concordia (MN) on Sunday in the Bengals’ first NCAA game of the season. All three goals were scored in the third period.

Buffalo State will host RIT, the No. 6-ranked team in the nation, for a two-game set this Saturday and Sunday.
