Buffalo State's Maher, Frieling Sweep Weekly SUNYAC Softball Honors
Buffalo State’s Nicole Maher (Waterloo/ Waterloo) and Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/ Williamsville North) were named the State University of New York Conference (SUNYAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Maher, a criminal justice major, helped the Bengals to a 3-3 start at the National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Fla., hitting .467 with eight RBIs. She also posted three doubles, two triples and four runs scored.
Frieling, an exceptional education major, posted a 2-1 record in five appearances for the Bengals. She registered 14 strikeouts and had a 0.86 ERA in 24 innings of work, including a three-hitter in an 8-2 win against Indiana Tech.
The Bengals spring trip continues tomorrow with a twin bill against Carleton (MN).
