Buffalo State's Orosz Named First Team Academic All-District
Buffalo State track and field standout Jenelle Orosz (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team for women's track & field/cross country and is now in the running to be an Academic All-American.
Orosz, a junior, has maintained 3.94 cumulative grade point average as a secondary English education major. She also had an outstanding season on the track and field circuit as a high jumper.
She became Buffalo State's first-ever female track and field All-American, finishing sixth at the indoor NCAA Division III Championships. She also captured SUNYAC and New York State Indoor Championships. Orosz also earned Second Team All-SUNYAC honors during the outdoor season.
Academic All-America voting will take place later this month. Orosz is looking to become the first Buffalo State athlete honored since football player Craig Dana earned second team accolades in both 1997-98 and 1998-99.
