Buffalo State's Petriello Named SUNYAC Hockey Rookie of the Week
Buffalo State freshman Nick Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week after recording a goal and three assists in his first two games of his career.
Petriello, a forward, had two assists in his collegiate debut, a 4-2 loss at the hands of No. 4-ranked Manhattanville. Then, the childhood education major notched a goal and an assist in a 4-1 triumph versus Cortland. He was also honored as a member of the SUNYAC Challenge All-Tournament Team.
Petriello and the Bengals will meet Hobart in a home-and-home this series this weekend. Buffalo State will host the Statesmen on Friday at 7 p.m., and then visit Geneva, NY on Saturday.
