Burchfield-Penney Art Center Announces Call for Work for Craft Art Western New York 2002

The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is now accepting applications for its eighth biennial exhibition, Craft Art in Western New York, devoted to local artists who work in clay, fiber, glass, metal, and wood. Artists must have current or past residency in WNY, as defined by the eight counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming, or residency in Monroe County.



This year's juror, Kenneth R. Trapp, curator-in-charge of the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery, will select works on the basis of quality, uniqueness, originality, and aesthetic integrity.



Of those chosen, one or more works will be purchased to become part of the Burchfield-Penney Art Center's collection.



All entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2002.
