Buffalo State men's hockey players Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/St. Peter's) and Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) both earned State University of New York Athletic Conference(SUNYAC) weekly honors after leading the Bengals to their first-ever weekend sweep at Plattsburgh and Potsdam this past Friday and Saturday.

Burke, a senior forward, was named the conference's Player of the Week after scoring two goals and had one assist in a 4-3 victory over Potsdam on Saturday. Burke's second goal was the game-winner with 0.3 seconds remaining in overtime. The criminal justice major leads the Bengals this season with 12 goals and 16 points.

Sheehan was named the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week after earning the pair of wins between the pipes. He stopped 26 shots in the 2-1 upset win over Plattsburgh, the 10th-ranked team in the nation. The junior criminal justice major stopped 34 shots in the overtime victory over Potsdam. The win over Plattsburgh State was the first in Buffalo State history.

Buffalo State is currently 6-7 overall and 4-3 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will host Lebanon Valley this weekend in a non-conference two-game set.
