Community Unity Day - Walk as One

Share with...
Community Unity Day is an annual partnership between The National Conference of Community and Justice and a variety of cultural organizations that make up the Olmsted Crescent. For the sixth consecutive year, Unity Day will focus on Walk as One, a walkathon to support the youth and diversity programs of the NCCJ on Sunday, June 27, 2004.

All participating organizations stand together to promote understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through education and communication, to support community and justice, and to celebrate the diversity of our region.

Registration begins at noon, and the three-mile walk starts at 1:00 p.m. Arrive early and enjoy art, entertainment and music for the whole family. After the walk, enjoy free refreshments and a picnic on the lawn of the Albright-Knox!

This year's presenting sponsor of Walk as One is Univera Health Care. National sponsors are Darden Restaurants (locally Red Lobster and the Olive Garden) and Federal Express. Community Unity Day is sponsored by The National Conference for Community and Justice, in cooperation with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, Buffalo State College, the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, The Buffalo News and UAW Region 9.

For more information about the walk, please contact Finley B. Cooperwood at (716) 853-9596.
