Cortland Skates Past Women's Hockey, 5-1
Cortland had scoring from five different players as it defeated visiting Buffalo State (3-12-1/0-9) today in an ECAC West contest at Alumni Ice Arena.
Cortland took a 4-0 lead into the third period, before Jamie Overbeck (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) scored a power-play goal with an assist from Jessica Thieme (Roselle, IL/Lake Park). The Red Dragons added a late goal to seal the victory.
Cortland outshot Buffalo State 37-17 for the game. Shannon Anesetti (Cannonsburg, PA/Caron-McMillan) made 32 saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will face the Red Dragons in Cortland again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
