Craft Art Western New York 2006 Call for Works
Craft Art Western New York 2006 is the Burchfield-Penney Art Center’s tenth biennial exhibition devoted to the celebration of works in clay, fiber, glass, metal and wood. Applications for this exhibition will be accepted from artists who are past or current residents of Western New York State (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties). The exhibition will be on view from September 16, 2006 through January 7, 2007. The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is located on the campus of Buffalo State College in the Museum District in Buffalo, New York.
This year’s juror is Lloyd Herman, founding director of the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery. Of the works chosen, one or more works will be purchased to become part of the Burchfield-Penney Art Center’s Collection.

Craft Art Western New York 2006 is made possible by the Sylvia L. Rosen Endowment for Fine Arts in the Craft Media, an endowment established at the Burchfield-Penney in 1987 by Sylvia L. Rosen and her late husband Nathan to support ongoing Western New York craft exhibitions, publications, acquisitions and programming. Sylvia L. Rosen is a respected potter and educator who earned her Master’s degree from Buffalo State College in 1971 and taught ceramics at the college.
