Cross Country Runner AJ Walsh
Cross Country runner AJ Walsh (Hamburg/Frontier) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore paced the Bengals to a sixth place finish at the SUNYAC Championships in Fredonia on Saturday. Walsh grabbed fifth place out of 110 runners with a time of 26:46. He became the first Bengal runner to earn First Team All-Conference honors since 1989. His top-five finish also gained him entrance into the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame, becoming just the 11th Buffalo State runner to garner that status, and the first since 1998.
