About Eternal Egypt

From ancient Rome through the present day, Egyptian art has fascinated collectors, archaeologists and general audiences. Some of the most important and exquisite surviving examples are preserved in The British Museum in London, and this exhibition presents many of the finest and most famous objects from that great collection. Ancient Egyptian art represents a considerable variety of media, styles, and purposes, revealing much about the society, customs, and religious beliefs of the times.

This exhibition is far from the only attraction at the ROM. In March, the museum celebrated its 90th birthday and is a leading repository for the cultural and natural history of Canada and the world. Their diverse collection numbers more than five million objects in the ongoing effort to increase understanding of cultural and natural diversity, and the significance, preservation, and conservation of artifacts in a variety of disciplines. Some of the ROM’s many current exhibitions include Ancient Cyprus: A Preview of The A.G. Leventis Foundation Gallery of Cypriot Antiquities, A Felt Feeling: From Home to Handbag, East Asian Sculpture Gallery, Dr. Fred Weinberg and Joy Cherry Weinberg Judaica Collection, Hands-on Biodiversity, The Maiasaur Project: The Life and Times of a Dinosaur and Artists' Echoes: Contemporary Responses to the ROM's Collections, an intriguing series of conceptual artworks offering interpretations of the ROM's collections that put a contemporary spin on some of the museum’s antiquities.
