On November 12, the School of the Professions hosted a private reception and tour of the Engineering Technology Department  for more than 20 local, national, and international companies. Solar City, Moog, and Empire State Development Corporation were just a few of the businesses in attendance. Guests observed state-of-the-art equipment demonstrations while having an opportunity to network with students, alumni, faculty, and manufacturers.

"Partnerships between industry and knowledge institutes like Buffalo State are vital," said Jim Mayrose, dean of the School of the Professions. "Working together provides our students with the real-world opportunities they need to be successful members of the workforce and will make Western New York manufacturers more competitive in the global economy. Working together to develop tomorrow’s solutions is something we can all be proud of."

The Engineering Technology Department offers four undergraduate majors—electrical engineering technology (electronics), electrical engineering technology (smart grid), industrial technology, and mechanical engineering technology—preparing students for technical careers in industry and business.

Buffalo State's new Technology Building features green design with smart classrooms, research spaces, students computer labs, and a vegetated roof.
