BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State athletics director Jerry S. Boyes announced today that Bob Filighera has been relieved of his duties as head women’s ice hockey coach.

Filighera, the only coach in the program’s seven-year history, amassed a career record of 45-84-11. The Bengals finished the 2005-06 season with a 7-14-2 overall record and a 3-9 mark in ECAC West play, failing to qualify for the conference playoffs for the third-consecutive season.

A search for a new head women’s ice hockey coach will begin immediately.
