Four Bengals Earn Weekly Football Honors

Four Buffalo State football players were recognized by the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) today for their efforts in the Bengals' 30-19 victory at Apprentice this past Saturday.

Perry Taglienti (Lancaster/Lancaster) was named the ACFC Co-Defensive Player of the Week after making 12 tackles, including seven solo stops and 2.5 for losses. He also blocked an Apprentice punt.

David Barabas (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) was awarded the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Barabas blocked two kicks, including one that was recovered for a Buffalo State touchdown.

Quarterback Mike Mikolaichik (Hilton/Hilton) was named to the Offensive Honor Roll as he was 14-for-28 for a career-high 296 yards and three touchdown passes. Tailback James Perkins (Troy/Troy) was also recognized on the Rookie Honor Roll as he rushed for 82 yards on 14 carries, including a career-long 35-yard touchdown.
