BUFFALO, NY—Jordan Oye (Richmond, BC) scored 1:00 into overtime to propel Fredonia (14-8-3/10-4-2) past host Buffalo State (10-11-4/5-7-4), 2-1, in a SUNYAC game tonight at Ice Arena.

Fredonia peppered the Bengals with 25 shots in the first two periods, but finally opened the scoring on its first of just two third-period shots when Richard Boyce (Mississauga, ON) connected on a pass from Bryan Goudy (Pt. Huron, MI) at the 6:45 mark. The Bengals outshot Fredonia 19-2 in the period and pulled even with 4:03 remaining when Cody Cole (St. Catharines, ON) walked in from the point and wristed a shot to the back of the net. Paul Gagnon (Troy, MI) and Johnny Duco (Toronto, ON) drew the assists. Oye ended the game, however, on a one-timer on a two-on-one with assists from Alex Morton (Cannington, ON) and Colin Sarfeh (Laguna Niguel, CA).

The shots were even at 29-29, as Kevin Amborski (Bloomfield, NY) had 28 stops for Fredonia, and Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY) made 27 saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will open the SUNYAC playoffs on Tuesday as the No. 6 seed at No. 3 Fredonia at 7 p.m.
