Buffalo State College alumnus Mayor Byron Brown will "shoot the gun" that kicks off the popular Bengal 5K Run & Fun Walk, Saturday, March 24th at 9:30 a.m.

Each year, the event draws nearly 400 participants from the community, campus and region, including Rochester, Batavia and Niagara Falls. Proceeds from the Bengal 5K benefit the Alumni Association's Legacy Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a child or grandchild of a Buffalo State Alumnus.

Pre-registration will run through March 21st at a cost of $18, general; $16, Buffalo State faculty, staff, or alumnus; $10 student (any age). The fee increases after March 21. To run, walk or volunteer, contact Jen Small, race director, at (716) 878-6001 or visit www.buffalostatebengal5k.org.
