Geneseo Tops Women's Lacrosse, 15-8

Buffalo State (7-4/1-4) dropped a 15-8 decision to SUNYAC-rival Geneseo (9-1/4-1) today at Coyer Field.

Geneseo overcame an early 3-1 deficit with five-straight goals. Buffalo State battled back, closing the gap to 6-5 at the half, and evened the score at 7-7 early in the second stanza. The Knights pulled away from there, however, scoring eight of the game's final nine goals. Geneseo outshot the Bengals 36-17 for the game.

Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/CW Baker), Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) and Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) scored two goals each for the Bengals. Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman) and Ashley Parker (Watertown/Watertown) added a goal apiece. Janine Forman (N. Massapequa/Plainedge) made 12 saves, allowing 11 goals, before Katie Rivers (Watertown/Watertown) had two saves and allowed the final four goals.

Buffalo State will host Oswego on Friday at 4 p.m.
