Global Design Competition Selects Five Buffalo State Students
Five artfully designed mini chairs created by Buffalo State College students have been selected for an online charitable auction benefitting health research, environmental efforts, and the arts.
The initiative, Global Chairs Project, based in Austin, Texas, attracts student entries from across the country. Buffalo State students selected for the honor are: Mary Bennett, Communication; Colleen O'Dowd, Art Education; Kirk Love, Communication; Julia Hy, Fine Arts; and Rebecca Flanders, Communication. Design lecturer Melissa Crowell brought the opportunity to her class and encouraged students to participate.
Students were asked to create imaginative chairs that would fit into an 8-by-8-by-8-inch box. Selected chairs are being auctioned to the highest online bidder.
