Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo visited the Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State, Wednesday, April 4. Joined by elected officials including Buffalo mayor Byron Brown, '83, Congressman Brian Higgins, '85, and others, Governor Cuomo provided highlights of the recently passed state budget to a standing-room-only audience.
The governor provided an overview of the budget’s statewide road and bridge repair projects, provisions to increase school aid, and funding for the multi-year, $1 billion economic-development package for Buffalo. "That's billion with a 'b,'" the Governor Cuomo emphasized.
Governor Cuomo's has visited Buffalo State twice in the past year: Including a May 2011 stop where he delivered his "People First" campaign and a September 2011 appearance where he commemorated the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with a visit to the Burchfield Penney Art Center's New York Remembers exhibition.
