Gray, Tyndal Lead Men’s Basketball Past Houghton
BUFFALO, NY— Jamar Gray’s (Rochester/ Bishop Kearney) 33 points and James Tyndal (Bronx/ Msgr. Scanlon) had 14 assists to lead Buffalo State (7-11) past NAIA Houghton (7-15), 82-63, in a non-conference game tonight at the Sports Arena.
Gray shot 14 of 18 from the field and added four assists. Tyndal finished one assist shy of a school record. He also had five points and four steals. Anderson White (Rochester/ Bishop Kearney) and Antonio Samedi (St. Albans/ Queens Vocational) added 10 points each.
Buffalo State used a 10-2 run midway through the opening half to propel itself to a 42-27 advantage at the intermission. The Highlanders never cut the deficit to single digits in the second frame. Buffalo State outscored Houghton 22-9 on the break and 26-2 from the bench.
Buffalo State will travel to SUNYAC-West leading Brockport on Friday at 8 p.m.
