Three proposals from research scientists at Buffalo State's Great Lakes Center were among the finalists invited to submit applications for competitive grant funding under the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, run by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Great Lakes National Program Office.

Only 270 proposals of more than 1,000 received were invited to submit full application packages, according to the EPA.

“We are very pleased to have these proposals under consideration,” said Alexander Karatayev, director of the Great Lakes Center. “We are also very grateful to the Buffalo State Research Foundation for supporting the research that helped us with these proposals.”
